This notice explains what personal data Empirical Marine and Trading Pte. Ltd. ("Shiplet", "we") collects through shiplet.sg, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It is written to meet our obligations under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
What we collect
When you send a booking request we collect your name, company name, email address, mobile number, preferred contact channel, the delivery address you give us, the details of your cargo, and any documents you upload. If you consent to analytics, we also collect anonymous usage data about which pages you visit.
Why we collect it
To prepare and send your quote, to arrange and carry out your shipment, to lodge import declarations with Singapore Customs and other agencies where required, to invoice you, and to contact you about your shipment. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.
Who we share it with
Only those who need it to move your goods: carriers and their agents, our handling partners in China, Singapore Customs and other regulators where a declaration requires it, and our delivery partners. Some of these are outside Singapore, in which case we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection, as the PDPA requires.
How long we keep it
Shipment and customs records are kept for five years, which is the period Singapore Customs requires records to be retained. Booking requests that never became shipments are kept for 24 months and then deleted. Uploaded documents are held in private storage that is not publicly accessible.
Access, correction and withdrawal
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our using it. Email info@empiricalmarine.com and we will respond within 30 days. Withdrawing consent while a shipment is in progress may mean we cannot complete it, since customs declarations legally require accurate consignee details.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets no analytics or advertising cookies unless you accept them in the banner. If you accept, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion tracking load and set their own cookies. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
