These terms govern your use of shiplet.sg, operated by Empirical Marine and Trading Pte. Limited.
Requests are enquiries, not contracts
Submitting a booking request on this site is a request for a quotation. It does not create a contract of carriage, does not reserve space on any vessel or flight, and does not oblige us to accept your cargo. Any instant quote shown on the site is indicative, worked out from our published rates; the confirmed quotation governs. A contract arises only when we issue a confirmed quotation and you accept it, and it is then governed by our Standard Trading Conditions.
Rates and information
Rates, transit times and sailing schedules published on this site are indicative. Transit times are estimates and do not allow for delays from a customs inspection, weather, port congestion or public holidays. We do not guarantee arrival on any particular date. The rate that applies to your shipment is the one in your confirmed quotation. If a price on this site or in an instant quote is plainly wrong, we may correct it, and a quotation based on an obvious error does not bind us.
Best price guarantee
If another freight forwarder in Singapore gives you a lower written all-in quotation for the same shipment, we will match it. The quotations must be comparable: the same route, the same mode (air, sea LCL or sea FCL), the same volume and weight, and the same service, including receipt at a hub in China, the Singapore import permit and customs clearance, and delivery to the same address, with GST treated the same way. Show us the other quotation, dated within the last 7 days, before you accept our confirmed quotation. It must be a genuine offer the forwarder would honour, not a promotional, introductory or members-only rate. We decide in good faith whether two quotations are comparable. The matched price replaces our confirmed quotation for that shipment, and everything else about the shipment is unchanged.
Accuracy of what you tell us
You are responsible for the accuracy of the cargo description, value, weight and dimensions you give us, because customs declarations are made on the strength of them. Understated values, misdescribed goods and undeclared dangerous goods are your liability, including any resulting penalties, storage and delay.
Goods we do not carry
Unless agreed in writing in advance, we do not carry cash and negotiable instruments, precious metals, precious stones and jewellery, works of art and antiques, live animals and plants, weapons, ammunition and explosives, narcotics, counterfeit goods or goods that infringe a trade mark or copyright, or anything whose import, export or carriage is prohibited. Batteries, aerosols, flammable liquids and magnets are dangerous goods and must be declared before we accept them. The full rules are in our Standard Trading Conditions.
Buying service
When we buy goods for you in China we act as your agent: the sale is between you and the seller. We choose sellers with care, check listings, and open each order at our hub to check for visible damage and the right items and quantity. We do our best to check authenticity and quality, and we take up damaged or wrong items with the seller under the platform's return and refund rules, but we cannot guarantee what a seller supplies. If a seller fails to ship, stops responding or will not refund, our staff in China will lodge a report with the platform and help you seek a refund; a refund is limited to what the seller or platform pays. Liability
We provide this site as-is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on information published here, and our total liability to you arising from your use of this site, as distinct from a shipment, is limited to S$100. Liability in respect of cargo is governed by our Standard Trading Conditions and, where applicable, the carrier's terms, not by this page. You indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these terms, from information you give us, or from documents you or your suppliers upload.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and the version in force is the one published here when you use the site. For a booking, the Standard Trading Conditions in force on the date you accept the confirmed quotation apply.
Language
These terms are written in English and translated into Chinese and Malay for convenience. If the versions differ, the English text prevails.
Photos and text on this site
The photographs, drawings and text on shiplet.sg belong to the operator of this site unless another source is named. You may link to any page. To reproduce a photo or a passage elsewhere, ask us first through the contact page: we usually agree to use with a credit and a link, and we confirm it in writing.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction. No one other than you and us has any right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce them.
